Tour Colombia to be one of Nairo Quintana's first races with Arkea-Samsic

Nairo Quintana has confirmed his participation in the 2020 edition of the Tour Colombia 2.1. with Arkea-Samsic.
The Colombian rider has started in the Colombian race since its inception in 2018 and he will be once more in 2020. The race will be held in the region where Quintana grew up and trains every time he is in the country, so he won't be missing the chance of competing on familiar roads.
"I will first start at the National Championships (January 30 to February 2) and then at the Tour Colombia (February 11 to 16) with my new team," said the Colombian rider to the organisation of the race. "I will be at the start of the season with Dayer (Quintana) and Winner (Anacona) and the people that will be with me throughout the year."
The Tour Colombia 2020 will be held entirely on terrain higher than 2000, which can be challenging for European riders. "For us, the Colombians, this Tour could be considered 'light' because we are used to the altitude, but for Europeans, it can be very difficult and different," said Quintana.
"I asked the organisers to create a route that wouldn't drive the riders away but that would make them want to come, not too demanding because it will be the first race of the year for many of us."
