Angel Madrazo is set to remain at Burgos BH for two more seasons as he extended his contract until 2021.

The Spaniard arrived to the team in 2019 and was the star of one of the most important moments for the formation so far: the victory of the fifth stage at the Vuelta a España, as well as the fight for the polka dot jersey at the grand tour.

The rider had an outstanding season and wants to keep the good work at the Spanish team. "It took a while for the results to start coming," Madrazo commented. "There were very difficult moments like the crash of Jesus Ezquerra when he was leading in Aragón. But on the other side, in July the victories arrived with (Jose) Neves in Portugal and I had a big joy with the birth of my little son.

"With these improved feelings, we started at the Vuelta a España, where the objective was to keep the mountain jersey for as long as possible. In the end, there were 14 stages, something very important for the team and that reflected the work of all the teammates. Also, we had a stage victory at Stage 5, in a new climbing finish. It was a dream come true for the entire Burgos BH."

The Spaniard also commented that he received proposals from other teams after his good season, but decided to stay. "I am a person that is driven by the heart," Madrazo explained. "Here in Burgos BH, I have a friendship with the manager Julio (Izquierdo), with my teammates and the staff.

"The team has become a family to me and I am always ready to return everything that they give to me. I want to keep showing that they can trust me and that I am always ready to give it all."
