WNT-Rotor has announced the signing of double European track champion Maria Giulia Confalonieri for the season 2020.

The Italian rider is a strong all-rounder who focuses on the track and the spring classics, which will make her have an eye on the Olympic games of Tokyo 2020. Confalonieri took her most recent title a few weeks ago in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, and got a silver medal wearing the European jersey at the first track world cup of the season in Minsk, Belarus.

"From the outside, it looks like such a close group and a great team, I’ve noticed throughout this season how well the team works together in races," the Italian commented. "I want to help to be a part of that next season and be a key part of the success, I’m very excited.

"I want to ride well especially in the classics, and I believe I can step up from where I am at this moment in my career, with a big goal looking towards the Olympics."

Confalonieri -who moves from Valcar Cyclance Cycling- is the second double European champion to join the team after the Danish rider Julie Leth.
