Cuban national champion Arlenis Sierra has decided to extend her stay at Astana Women's Team for 2020.

The rider will start her fourth season with the Kazakh-Italian formation. Sierra finished her 2019 season with ten victories including the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in January, the road race of the Pan American Games in August and the overall classification at the Giro Della Toscana in September.

"This team has done and is doing so much for me, it's like a second family and this is the most important thing," said the Cuban rider.

On the upcoming season, the Cuban champion will start again her season in Australia at the Santos Tour Down Uner, the new Race Torquay, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and the Women's Herald Sun Tour. The rider will also aim to be at the Olympic Games, which would be the second in her career after Rio de Janeiro in 2016, where she finished in the 28th place.

Sierra will be joined by another Cuban rider in Astana in 2020: Yeima Torres. The 32-year-old already made her debut with the team at the Vuelta a Guatemala and then went on to participate in the Giro dell' Emilia, the GP Beghelli and the Tour of Guangxi.
