The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has announced the Women teams that have been granted WorldTour licences for 2020. The cycling governing body also confirmed the men's WorldTour and ProTour licences.

From 2020, women's teams will also have a WorldTour tier and eight teams have been awarded those first licences. Ale-BTC Ljubljana, Canyon-SRAM, CCC-Liv, FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope, Movistar, Sunweb and Trek-Segafredo have secured a licence in the WorldTour while the application of Mitchelton-Scott is still being evaluated.

All the teams that were part of the men's 2019 WorldTour plus Cofidis and Israel Cycling Academy are part of the highest tier of cycling for 2020, but the file of Mitchelton-Scott is also still being evaluated.

The UCI also announced the teams that received a ProTour licence for 2020 and those are: Androni-Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani CSF Faizane, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Circus-Wanty Gobert, Fundacion-Orbea, Gazprom-Rusvelo, Rally Cycling, Riwal Readynez Cycling Team, Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise, Arkea-Samsic, Novo Nordisk, Total Direct Energie, Uno-X Norwegian Development Team, B&B Hotels-Vital Concept, Burgos-BH, Corendon, Nippo Delko Provence and Vino Zabu KTM.

It was also confirmed that Total Direct Energie will be invited to all WorldTour events because it was the first ProTour team in the UCI World Ranking, and Circus-Wanty Gobert, being second, will be invited to all UCI Classic Series Events.
