Team Ineos' Egan Bernal will be returning to the Tour de France in 2020, in a season that won't include the Giro d'Italia.

Many rumours have been going around about the upcoming season for the winner of the 2019 Tour de France. Although it was initially discussed that he was going to make his debut in the Italian grand tour -which he missed in 2019 dure to a clavicle fracture during training- the rider has confirmed in Colombia that he isn't riding this race, reports Colombian newspaper El Tiempo.

Bernal -who is currently in Colombia participating in several exhibition events- confirmed part of his calendar for the upcoming season. He will start riding the Colombian national championships and then he will be at the start line of the Tour Colombia 2.1. -which will be held between the 11th and the 16th of February.

Then he will return to Europe where he will ride races like Paris-Nice -in which he will be defending his title. Then he will continue preparing for the Tour de France and will include a preparation race that will be the Tour of Switzerland or the Criterium du Dauphine.
