Deceuninck-Quick-Step's Fabio Jakobsen has taken the victory at the last day of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. Tadej Pogacar confirmed the final victory of the race.

The last stage of the 2020 edition of the Spanish race was only 98 kilometres long and took the riders between Paterna and Valencia, having a finish on the already iconic city circuit. The escape of the day was formed by four riders and included names like Hugo Houle (Astana) and Sergio Samitier (Movistar), and built a gap of more than a minute with the pack, but the teams with sprinters controlled the pace to force a fast finale.

The escapees were caught with 10 kilometres to go and the teams started organising right away to place their sprinters in an ideal position. It all came down to a duel at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento between the usual suspects but this time Fabio Jakobsen (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) was the faster to cross the finish line, just ahead of Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma).

Lotto Soudal's John Degenkolb was the third rider to arrive to the finish. UAE Team Emirates' Tadej Pogacar crossed the finish line with the pack and confirmed the overall victory in the race, while Tao Geoghegan Hart and Jack Haig occupied the other two places on the final podium.
