EF ProCycling has finished the Tour Colombia on a high note as Sergio Higuita confirmed his overall win and Daniel Martinez took the victory of the day.

The closing stage of the South American race was 182.6 kilometres long between Zipaquira and the Alto del Verjon over a route that included a mountain finish. Higuita started the day on top of the General Classification, and he and his team made sure that this wouldn't change.

Ineos and Egan Bernal tried to surprise the American formation, but they followed each of their moves and their attacks. A group of five riders, that included Bernal, Higuita and Martinez, arrived together to the last kilometre and the two EF riders launched an attack that left the others behind and that gave the team the overall and the stage victories.

This is the first General Classification win for the Colombian while his teammates Martinez and Jonathan Caicedo completed the final podium of the race.
