Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma) has been the fastest sprinter at the fast finale of the fourth stage of the UAE Tour.

The fourth stage of the Emirati race was bound to finish in a bunch sprint after the peloton faced a 173-kilometre flat route. The escape of the day was formed by riders like William Clarke (Trek-Segafredo) and Veljko Stojnic (Vini Zabu-KTM).

Clarke rode most of the final part by himself and was caught by a fast peloton with seven kilometres to go. The final stretch of the race was windy and nervous and teams like Jumbo-Visma, UAE-Team Emirates and Deceuninck-Quick-Step took the lead of the pack to set the speed ahead of the bunch sprint.

Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma) launched a strong sprint in the last metres and Fernando Gaviria (UAE-Team Emirates) took his wheel and tried to beat him, but the Dutchman crossed the finish line in the first position. Gaviria, Pascal Ackermann, Sam Bennett and Caleb Ewan, completed the top-five of the day.

Adam Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) finished the stage with the pack and retained the lead of the General Classification.
