The Paris-Nice organisation has decided to shorten the race one day and will finish after the seventh stage.

Among the coronavirus crisis in Europe, the French race is the latest to take measures against the spread of the Covid-19. Although everything in the competition was running as usual, the organisation has decided to cut one stage and it will finish instead at the end of the seventh stage and the eight stage in Nice will not take place.

"After consultation with the relevant authorities, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the Ville de Nice, the organisers of Paris-Nice have decided that 7th stage, finishing at Valdebore la Colmiane, will be the last of the race," said the race organisation through a statement.

"This decision, taken as part of the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus, means that the final stage in Nice is now cancelled."
