Jumbo-Visma is almost ready to prepare for the remaining of the season and the riders are expected to return to training on June 1.

The Dutch team advised its riders to take it easy while it became clear the dates of the rest of the calendar. And following instructions they maintain a soft kind of training to keep the form and not do any extreme kinds of diets, but all that is about to change.

As racing is planned to return by the first of August, Jumbo-Visma is expecting its riders to return to training with two months of anticipation. "From June 1, we will kick off for a real start of the rest of the season," said sports director Marijn Zeeman to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.

"At that moment we will start training again in a targeted manner and the playing time will be over."

Jumbo-Visma keeps the original plan to tackle the Tour de France. "We stick to out position to go to the Tour with the strongest possible team," Zeeman explained. "That means that we will take (Tom) Dumoulin, (Primoz) Roglic, (Steven) Kruijswijk and the Belgians (Wout) Van Aert and (Laurens) De Plus."

The team wants to do some altitude training before the French grand tour but as places like the Sierra Nevada and Tenerife are difficult to access at the moment, it is playing with the possibility of going to Austria, France or Switzerland. But for Van Aert it will be more complicated to do altitude, as he and the team want to start in Strade Bianche and Milano-Sanremo -August 1 and 8, respectively.

For the other grand tours, Jumbo-Visma expects to take a young roster to the Vuelta a España with Steven Kruisjwijk as the leader, and for the Giro, the team will count on Dylan Groenewegen for stage wins and will have George Bennett as the GC card.
