The Spanish National Championships will take place between the 21st and the 23rd of August in the province of Jaen.

The championships were originally set to be held between the 19th and the 21st of June but due to the coronavirus pandemic and the suspension of the calendar, they had to be adjourned. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) published its complete calendar and it left the weekend of August 21-23 for the National championships.

The Spanish Federation has chosen to keep its original location for the championships that will crown the riders that will take the national jerseys from Alejandro Valverde and Lourdes Oyarbide. The national coach Pascual Monparler is working with the local government to design a course that is attractive for the riders.

"The championships will be spectacular because of the possibilities they will offer, the beauty of Jaén and because the riders are very much looking forward to it, also because it will be one of the last competitions before the start of the Tour de France," said Monparler to Spanish newspaper Marca.

The Spanish national championships will start on the 21st of August with the team time trials -men's and women's U23 and elite, will continue the next days with the road races for the U23 pelotons and will finish on the Sunday, August 23 with the road races of the elite riders.
