WADA President Witold Banka will join Formula One rider Robert Kubica in the e-Tour de Pologne Amateurs.

The fourth stage of the ORLEN e-Tour de Pologne Amateurs will take place on the 30th of May and London will be the setting of the last event of the 2020 series, in which the participants will face a 14.85-kilometre course twice.

Athletes and personalities will take part on the virtual race, which will be in the platform Zwift. Banka, President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will be at the start line of the competition.

"Clean sport has a great power to connect us all, as shown by the interest that the virtual ORLEN e-Tour de Pologne Amateurs has generated," explained Banka. "Even with the challenges of Covid-19, we are able to unite and practice sport together. Thank you to the organizers for the invitation.

"As a former sprinter, I try to stay in shape by running. This cycling race is a completely new challenge for me. I have heard that Polish Formula One driver Robert Kubica is doing very well so far in the race. It’s clear that it won't be an easy race against such fierce competitors."

Other names of Polish sports, like Kubica, will also take part on the last event of the race. "We reached the final stage of this new incredible adventure," said the general director of the Tour de Pologne Cezlaw Lang. "I never thought it would have captivated me so much. I belong to a generation that spent a lot of time riding and training, but always just on the roads. I know I've said it before but I'm delighted with how the project is going.

"Also, I am honoured to have Mr. Banka in the starting list in London. The love for the sport is clearly an important part of his life, and he has shown total dedication during these years. I am thrilled and, for this reason, this time I'll jump on my trainers and will be part of the peloton."

Fans can follow the action of this competition through Eurosport 1, partner of the entire event, and on the Lang Team social media. You can find more information here.
