Bahrain-McLaren's Ivan Garcia Cortina has dismissed the rumours that pint out to a done deal with Movistar.

The week started with the rumours in Spanish media about the move of Garcia Cortina to Movistar with a three-year deal. But the Spaniard -who hs a contract with his current team until the end of 2020- reacted fast to this information and dismissed it through his social media.

"I love it when some journalists know more about me than myself," he sarcastically pointed it out through his Twitter account. Later on the day, the 24-year-old retweeted an information from Spanish journalist Quique Iglesias from the broadcaster COPE, that cleared up his situation a bit more.

"There are several offers for Ivan Cortina, and not only from Movistar" the journalist pointed out. "The deadline to take a decision is now open. He will listen to his current team. He can't sign for another team before the First of August. He hasn't decided his calendar. His idea is to ride the classics, but he doesn't rule out the Tour [de France, Ed.]"

The sprinter/classic rider signed with his current team in 2017 after starting his career in the continental formation Klein Constantia -the development team of Deceuninck-Quick-Step. García Cortina has been breaking through in the last two seasons, which has been evident in his stage victories at Paris-Nice and the Amgen Tour of California.
