UAE Team Emirates has announced its core riders for the 2020 grand tours weeks before the World Tour season kicks back off in August.

Months before the UCI calendar returns, the Emirati team is one of the first formations to announce the main riders that will tackle the three-week races. Each roster will have a good balance of climbers, sprinters and puncheurs depending on the goals for every competition.

Fabio Aru and Tadej Pogacar headline the roster for the Tour de France and they be accompanied by Davide Formolo, David de la Cruz and sprinter Alexander Kristoff. UAE Team Emirates will go to the Giro d'Italia with the intention of winning stages and getting a good GC position, and that's why Fernando Gaviria will be at the start line along with Max Richeze, Sebastian Molano, Brandon McNulty, Joe Dombrowski, Valerio Conti and Diego Ulissi.

Jasper Philipsen will make his Vuelta a España debut and is set to be at the startline there with David de la Cruz, Davide Formolo, Fabio Aru and Rui Costa.

"We are cautious but also optimistic," said UAE Team's principal Mauro Gianetti. "The solidarity within the team has been a great asset throughout this period, and we aim to carry that forward as we move back to racing. A huge amount of work has been done by the team behind the scenes along with the help of our sponsors to ensure a viable safety protocol for when the racing returns.

"The prospect of racing again soon is an exciting one for the team, the sponsors and also for the fans. The riders themselves are more motivated than ever with this new calendar."
