Ale BTC Ljubljana's Ursa Pintar has taken the victory of the road race at the Slovenian National Championships.

The women's peloton also had its return to racing after the Covid-19 pandemic in Slovenia at the first event of the national championships, the road race. The riders tackled a 68 kilometres long route that took them between Cerklje and Ambroz pod Krvavcem and that featured the same tough final climb.

Pintar managed to escape from the peloton and was followed by Lviv Cycling Team women's Spela Kern. The two escapees had a strong fight on the final climb but the rider of Ale BTC Ljubljana was able to eventually create a gap that allowed her to cross the finish line with a 14-second gap over her rival and take the national title of Slovenia for the first time in her career.

Ale BTC Ljubljana shone in the race as other two riders took top-five positions. Urska Zigart -who stepped on the third place of the final podium- and last year's Slovenian champion Eugenia Bujak. Blaza Pintaric completed the top five of the race by arriving to the finish more than 13 minutes behind Pintar.
