Bora-hansgrohe's Peter Sagan and RCS Sport have confirmed the participation of the rider in the upcoming edition of the Giro d'Italia.

The Corsa Rosa will start on the third of October and finish on the 25th and after weeks of rumours it has confirmed the presence of the three-time World Champion -who then will give up classic races like Liege-Bastogne-Liege, the Amstel Gold Race, the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix to be in the Italian Grand Tour.

"In my programs agreed before the lockdown there was the Giro d'Italia and even after the release of the new calendar I wanted to keep my word and be present at the start of the Corsa Rosa," Sagan explained. "Together with the team, despite the overlap with the northern classics, we immediately decided that I would participate in the Giro.

"There was not even a moment of doubt or second thoughts. I am happy to come riding on the roads of the Corsa Rosa, for me it will be the first time, and I could not postpone it again."

To show his commitment with the race, Sagan and RCS Sport have made a series of videos showing how he has become an expert in Italy. Every Thursday and for five Thursdays, there will be a new video in the Giro d'Italia website of the rider talking about his knowledge of different aspects of the country.
