Philippe Gilbert confirms new calendar for remainder of 2020

Lotto-Soudal's Philippe Gilbert has announced the races he will tackle in the revamped calendar of the UCI.
The rider started his first season at the Belgian team at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, the Volta ao Algarve, the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Paris-Nice -race that was shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic. The remaining of the 2020 calendar for the rider will be focused in one day races and includes the only Monument that is missing from his palmares: Milano-Sanremo.
Gilbert's first week after the restart of the season will be in Italy, where he will start in Strade Bianche (August 1), Milano-Torino (August 5) and Milano-Sanremo (August 8). From there he moves to Belgium where he will be at the Tour de Wallonie (August 16-19) before starting at Tour de France (August 29-September 20) for the tenth time in his career.
In October, the rider will focus on one-day races starting with Liege-Bastogne-Liege (October 4) and continuing with De Brabantse Pijl (October 7), the Amstel Gold Race (October 10), the Tour of Flanders (October 18) and finishes with Paris-Roubaix (October 25).
