RCS Sport has announced the list of teams that will take part in its 2020 races, including the wildcards that have been granted.

The organisation of most of the more important Italian races in the calendar has unveiled the wildcards for all the races that are still to come, including the Giro d'Italia and two monuments: Milano-Sanremo and Il Lombardia. All these races got new dates in the new calendar created by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to return to racing after the Covid-19 pandemic is under control in Europe.

For the Italian grand tour -which will take place between the third and the 25th of October- the 19 WorldTour teams will be at the start line and three wildcards have been awarded to Italian teams: Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani CSF Faizane and Vini Zabu KTM.

Strade Bianche -known as the 'sixth monument'- will be held on the first of August and will have 18 UCI WorldTour teams, one formation qualified by ranking position: Circus-Wanty Gobert; and five Wild Cards: Alpecin-Fenix, Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani CSF Faizane, B&B Hotels-Vital Concept and Arkea Samsic.

For the women's version of the race of the white roads, the eight UCI WorldTour teams will participate along with 15 Continental teams -which also include eight wildcards: Aromitalia-Basso Bikes-Vaiano, Astana Women's Team, BePink, Bigla-Katusha, Boels Dolmans, Ceratizit-WNT, Cogeas Mettler Look, Eurotarget-Bianchi-Vittoria, Lotto Soudal, Parkhotel Valkenburg, Rally Cycling, Servetto-Piumate-Beltrami, Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank, Top Girls Fassa Bortolo and Valcar-Travel & Service.

Milano-Torino -August 5- will receive 14 WorldTour teams (AG2R La Mondiale, Astana, Bora-hansgrohe, CCC Team, Deceuninck-Quick-Step, Groupama-FDJ, Israel Start-Up Nation, Lotto Soudal, Mitchelton-Scott, Movistar, Ineos, Jumbo-Visma, Trek-Segafredo and UAE Team Emirates) and eight teams received Wildcards for it: Alpecin-Fenix, Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani CSF Faizane, B&B Hotels-Vital Concept, Circus-Wanty Gobert, Gazprom-Rusvelo, Arkea-Samsic and Vini Zabu KTM.

For Milano-Sanremo on August 8, all 19 WorldTour teams will start along with two formations qualified by ranking position -Total Direct Energie and Circus-Wanty Gobert- and four wildcards -Alpecin-Fenix, Gazprom-Rusvelo, Arkea-Samsic and Vini Zabu KTM.

Four days later, eleven World Tour teams -Astana, CCC, Deceuninck-Quick-Step, Israel Start-Up Nation, Mitchelton-Scott, Movistar, NTT Pro Cycling, Ineos, Jumbo-Visma, Trek-Segafredo and UAE Team Emirates- will start in Milano-Torino, as well as six wildcards -Alpecin-Fenix, Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani CSF Faizane, Circus-Wanty Gobert, Gazprom-Rusvelo and Vini Zabu KTM.

Il Lombardia will be held on August 15 and all WorldTour teams will be there, along with five invited squads: Alpecin-Fenix, Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani CSF Faizane, Gazprom-Rusvelo and Vini Zabu KTM, and Circus-Wanty Gobert, which quilified by ranking.

The Italian races of RCS Sport will finish with Tirreno-Adriatico -which will be held between the seventh and the 14th of September- and 19 WorldTour teams will be at the start line, one team qualified by ranking -Total Direct Energie- and five teams that were awarded wildcards: Alpecin-Fenix, Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani CSF Faizane, Gazprom-Rusvelo and Vini Zabu KTM.
