AG2R La Mondiale has already selected the riders that will face the six stages of the virtual Tour de France.

The virtual edition of the French grand tour will be done through the Zwift platform and will have six stages, starting on the fourth of July and continuing for three consecutive weekends. This event will raise funds for five charity partners: Emmaüs, Secours populaire français, Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur, BiJeWa and Qhubeka.

The French team is already prepared for this and has selected the four riders that will be in each of the six stages.

"We have already had a good week-long training camp at Chambon-sur-Lignon to get the Tour de France group together and on the same page," said AG2R La Mondiale sports director Julien Jurdie. "Our team managed to accumulate 28 hours of ride time and 15223 meters of elevation gain, which all added up to 922 kilometres covered in total.

"It is also clear that the entire team has worked exceptionally hard throughout the whole time of confinement as well as since we've all been able to ride on the roads since May 11. And even if this month of July will not coincide with the actual Tour de France, this new virtual event offered by the ASO will give the teams a bit more exposure and a chance to race. After these six stages we are all looking forward to returning to competition on August 1."
