Bahrain McLaren is ready to face the virtual Tour de France, which will take place over the three first weekends of July in the Zwift platform.

July is not the same without the Tour de France, but the ASO and the virtual cycling platform Zwift are going to fix it with a six-stage competition. This event will raise funds for five charity partners: Emmaüs, Secours populaire français, Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur, BiJeWa and Qhubeka, and will have the participation of 23 of the top cycling teams.

Bahrain McLaren is one of those teams and it has already chosen the four riders that will defend its colours in the first stage. Ivan Cortina, Matej Mohori?, Rafa Valls, and Enrico Battaglin will be at the start line of the virtual stage of the fourth of July.

"To race, the Virtual Tour de France will be a very different experience than racing the real race," said Mohoric. "From my previous virtual racing experience, I can say that it is very hard for the legs. I am looking forward to measuring myself against the other riders, but even more, I am looking forward to the real races on the roads shortly."

The real edition of the Tour de France will start in Nice on the 29th of August and will finish in the traditional Paris city course with a finish in the Champs-Elysees on the 20th of September.
