Eusebio Unzue, General Manager of Movistar, has shown his excitement and gratitude about the Vuelta a Burgos and the restart of the season.

The cycling season had to be stopped in March after Paris-Nice due to the coronavirus pandemic that was hitting the world at the moment, and that continues in a limited way, and since then, everything has been focused on the moment to return to the roads. The Spanish Vuelta a Burgos will mark the return to competition for the peloton and all eyes are on it.

The race will start on the 28th of July and will continue until August first, if by then the Covid-19 allows it and following all the protocols set not only by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) but also the national and local governments.

"There are very few days left for us to celebrate the restart of the season, a season that has been very strange and complicated," said Unzue. "If so far, the race has been important, right now it has become vital. This is why I would like to thank the organisation, the people and the companies involved for all the efforts you have been doing to make it happen in a moment that is so difficult. Many thanks from our team and I would also like to thank you on behalf of our sport."

The race will not only be the first test to the return of professional cycling in the new conditions set by the coronavirus pandemic, but will also be a good test for the shape of riders, who aren't often left without racing for such a long period. Movistar will be at the start line of the race with its three general classification riders, who will lead the formation at the three grand tours: Alejandro Valverde, Marc Soler and Enric Mas.
