Matteo Dal-Cin (Rally Cycling) has sprinted to victory in the third stage of the virtual Tour de France.

The third stage of the virtual competition of the French grand tour was 48 kilometres long over a route that featured two climbs of the third category. The riders of NTT Pro Cycling put pressure on the peloton from the beginning from their hotel in Lucca, Italy, where the formation is training at the moment.

Alpecin Fenix managed to dominate the climbs and the pace made the pack smaller until only 39 riders remained in the final five kilometres. Edvald Boasson Hagen (NTT Pro Cycling) did a good job setting the pace in the last metres, but Dal-Cin -an experienced Zwift rider- managed to cross the finish line ahead of Jake Stewart (Equipe Continentale Groupama-FDJ) and Callum Scotson (Mitchelton-Scott).

South African champion Ryan Gibbons (NTT Pro Cycling) finished the stage in the fifth position, which allowed the team to remain in the lead of the overall standings.
