Groupama-FDJ's Stefan Küng has taken the Swiss time trial title in the national championships for the fourth time.

Since 2017, the Swiss rider has been dominant in the discipline in the championships of his country, and he will wear once again the red suit with the white cross in all fights against the clock of the upcoming year. The competition took the riders three times through a 10-kilometre circuit in Belp, and Küng finished it in 37 minutes and 36 seconds, being 54 seconds faster than AG2R La Mondiale's Silvan Dillier.

"It was the first time that I started in a race in four months," said the Swiss time trial champion. "It was something special, but it was nice to put on a number again and recover the sensations of racing. And it went well. My mission was to defend the jersey and that's what I did.

"It's nice to be able to wear it for another year on international races. I had done recon of the course several times and I knew what to do. I had a plan in mind, and I was able to execute it 100%. It's also a pleasure to open the counter with my new bike."

Earlier in the day, Alexandre Balmer from the continental team of Groupama-FDJ took the victory in the U23 fight against the clock, while Malen Reusser (Paule Ka) won the women elite time trial for the second time in a row.
