Israel Start-Up Nation's Freddy Ovett and Drops' April Tacey have taken the victories at the fourth stage of the virtual Tour de France.

The first ones to tackle the 45.8-kilometre long course that featured four climbs of the third category were the women. Jossy Lowden (Drops) did a good job from the start by setting a high pace in the first two climbs, which caused a split in the pack that left behind riders like Alexis Ryan (Canyon-SRAM) and Coryn Rivera (Sunweb).

There was a lot of action in the front group and Tacey managed once again to beat the competition and crossed the finish line ahead of Anna Henderson (Sunweb) and Lauren Stephens (Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank) -and the latter's results helped the team to retain the Yellow Jersey.

The men's race started with action from Israel Start-Up Nation's Daniel Turek, who made two accelerations that allowed him to take the most KOM points in the first to climb of the day and defend the Polka-dot jersey of his team. Trek-Segafredo's Ryan Mullen attacked in the flatter sections but NTT Pro Cycling, riding from the training camp in Lucca (Italy), managed to bring him back to defend the Yellow Jersey.

William Clarke (Trek-Segafredo) tried to anticipate the final sprint but he was caught by the rest with 50 metres to go. Freddy Ovett (Israel Start-Up Nation) claimed the victory ahead of Nick Schultz (Mitchelton-Scott) and Michael Valgren (NTT ProCycling). The South African team successfully defended the Yellow Jersey ahead of the last two stages of the Zwift Competition, which will be held next weekend.
