Burgos-BH is preparing to return to competition in Portugal and Spain and that is the reason for the formation to divide into two bubbles.

The bubble concept has been widely adopted by the world of cycling to minimize risks of Covid-19, following the advice of the UCI. The Spanish team is not the exception and it will be divided into two groups, one that will head to Portugal and another that will stay in Spain, and they will not come in contact with each other.

Riders and staff will undergo the Covid-19 tests, including the serological ones, and this will allow them to safely isolate and protect themselves as much as possible against the coronavirus. The first group will arrive to Burgos on July 15, and it will then head to Portugal.

"All the riders are set to arrive with a negative test for Covid-19 and from that moment they will be part of the team bubble, which will move in caravan to Portugal," said team director Alexis Gandía.

The second group will arrive to Burgos on July 23 and it will be the one preparing for the Vuelta a Burgos. "The first rule is to follow common sense," said Juan Antonio Jaume, doctor coordinator of Burgos-BH. "Soon after the arrival in the concentration, there will be short talks for all personnel to explain the protocols to follow. Everyday controls will be made with a health questionnaire and temperature control to riders and staff."

General Manager Julio Andrés Izquierdo is looking forward to the restart of the calendar. "For Burgos-BH this returns means to see the light again, to recover hope, and competing in a calendar that includes our home race, the Vuelta a Burgos, in a very special edition," he explained. "Society has had to go through very difficult moments and that is something that we do in cycling all the time.

"We face the new normality with caution, and we deeply thank the effort done by all the sponsors to keep their commitment with the team."
