Israel Start-Up Nation has revealed that Omer Goldstein has been diagnosed with Covid-19 and that Itamar Einhorn has been removed from the team squad that will face the Vuelta a Burgos as precautionary measure.

The Israeli team has been following strict guidelines and protocols to deal with the current Covid-19 pandemic and has respected all the guidelines of local authorities and of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) for the returning to competition. These protocols include a series of tests for the riders and staff and so far all the results had returned negative.

But on the morning of July 28, the results of Goldstein were positive, and he was immediately quarantined, although he was preparing to return to competition next week and was asymptomatic. The team and rider have warned people that has been close to him, so they can take new PCR tests, and so far all of them have been negative.

Einhorn was the only rider currently part of the squad in Spain who had been in contact with Goldstein. "Although the additional test results have not been returned yet, the team doctors have decided to remove Einhorn from the team squad in Burgos as a precautionary measure and continue to monitor the situation," said the team through a statement.
