Fabio Jakobsen and Remco Evenepoel are set to lead Deceuninck-Quick-Step at the upcoming Tour de Pologne.

Just days after he became the youngest rider to ever win the Vuelta a Burgos, Evenepoel will be back in the first stage race of the WorldTour after the restart of the season -which had to be suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Belgian will lead the team's GC ambitions while the Dutch national champion will fight for stage victories on the fast days.

The Polish race will be five stages long and will have enough opportunities for different kinds of riders: sprinters, climbers and puncheurs. Although the competition doesn't have an individual time trial for the fourth time in a row, the race will offer plenty of chances for the riders to shine.

"We start again with a very strong and motivated squad," said Klaas Lodewyck, sports director. "Fabio is our man for the sprints, he's excited to be back racing, and we're confident he is capable of getting a good result, while with Remco we will go again for the GC.

"Everyone saw what he did in Burgos, and he will have a nice support also here and an excellent road captain in Dries. We'll just take one stage at a time and see what happens."

Deceuninck-Quick-Step's roster for the Tour de Pologne (August 5-9)

Davide Ballerini
Mattia Cattaneo
Dries Devenyns
Remco Evenepoel
Fabio Jakobsen
James Knox
Florian Sénéchal
