Bora-hansgrohe has announced that young cyclist Jan Riedmann has died following an accident he had over the weekend.

The 17-year-old belonged to the Team Auto Eder -the U19 formation of Bora-hansgrohe- and he was riding with some of his teammates when he was hit by a car in the Bavarian municipality of Sugenheim. He was airlifted to the Würzburg University Hospital, where he died from the injuries he sustained.

The German team made the announcement of Riedmann's death through social media, where other teams and riders have shown their condolences and sympathy to the formation.
