Team Sunweb is set to be at the start line of the Criterium du Dauphine with a strong team that wants to prepare for the rest of the season.

The 2020 edition of the French race will be five stages long and will serve as preparation for the upcoming Tour de France, as usual. The riders have to be prepared for a very challenging competition as all the stages will include uphill finishes.

"We go to the Dauphiné with a strong team in what is set to be a very hard edition of the race," said Matt Winston, Sunweb coach. "There is no easy day in the saddle; with a lot of elevation gain on every single stage, but we've got a group of strong guys here ready and motivated to build on their strong level.

"It's the first race back for Mark (Donovan) after the restart and those with some racing in their legs are showing good form. Each stage provides nice opportunities for a day result, and we'll aim to be sharp to take those when they present themselves with the strong block that we've got here, as we approach an important part of the season."

Sunweb's roster for the Criterium du Dauphine (August 12-16):

Søren Kragh Andersen
Nikias Arndt
Tiesj Benoot
Mark Donovan
Marc Hirschi
Nicholas Roche
Jasha Sütterlin
