Criterium du Dauphine

The last kilometres of the second stage of the Criterum du Dauphine turned into chaos as a big hailstorm hit the riders of the gruppetto.

By the moment the winner of the stage Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) crossed the finish line of the second day of competition of the French race, the weather was still good and many riders managed to get to their team buses without problems. But around 20 minutes after the arrival of the Slovenian, a hail storm hit the Col de Porte and all the riders that were still getting to the line.

Riders like Tim Declercq and Tony Martin were caught by the storm, and they were hit by hail of the size of ping-pong balls, which was evident in a picture posted by the rider of Deceuninck-Quick-Step. Teams and riders put up videos on social media to show the chaos that was lived on the climb.
