CCC Team has withdrawn Lukaz Wisniowski and Szymon Sajnok from Tirreno-Adriatico due to a suspected case of Covid-19.

Wisniowski has already withdrawn from the race at the seventh stage after showing mild symptoms during the stage and underwent a fast test that indicated a positive result. The rider will undergo a PCR test to confirm the result.

Sajnok was the roommate of the rider and was also withdrawn from the race following the team's Covid-19 policy. All the remaining riders and staff present in the race, in consultation with the race medical team, underwent rapid testing twice and all the results were negative.

"Lukasz Wisniowski presented with mild symptoms while racing on stage seven of Tirreno - Adriatico," said CCC Team Chief Medical Officer Max Testa. "As per CCC Team's Covid-19 policy, Wisniowski was immediately removed from the race and underwent a rapid test which indicated a positive result.

"Wisniowski has been isolated from the team, along with his roommate Szymon Sajnok and his therapist, and will undergo a PCR test to confirm the result. This is a situation we have prepared for since the racing season resumed, and we will respect all necessary protocols should further testing confirm a positive case."
