The director of the Tour de France Christian Prudhomme has tested negative for Covid-19 on Monday.

One week ago, during the testing of the entire peloton and the race members, the Frenchman tested positive for coronavirus and had to leave his position on the French grand tour. But after new testing done one week later, after being in isolation all the previous days, Prudhomme has returned a negative test.

Newspapers, news agencies and broadcasters like Reuters, Sporza and L'Equipe have reported these results and have confirmed that the director of the most important race in the calendar can return to his position on Tuesday, at the 16th stage.

The 59-year-old tested positive along with some staff members of teams like Mitchelton-Scott, AG2R La Mondiale, Ineos Grenadiers and Cofidis, but none of the riders did. Also, none of the teams reported two positive cases, so all the formations could remain in competition, as it is stated that one team with two positive cases has to withdraw from it.

Although the official results of the Monday testing of the peloton will be reported just before the 16th stage, the leader of the General Classification Primoz Roglic has confirmed that none of the Jumbo-Visma riders or staff has returned a positive test.
