The BinckBank Tour is set to have a time trial on Friday, October second, which will replace the stage.

The stages of the Dutch-Belgian race that were set to be in the Netherlands have been cancelled due to the new Covid-19 measures taken by the national government and its organisation has decided to replace one with a time trial. The original fight against the clock was set to be on the second day of competition and now it will be on the third stage on Friday, October 2.

The time trial will be in Riemst, Belgium, where the stage was supposed to start before the peloton would head to the Netherlands. The fight against the clock will be 8.14 kilometres long over a rolling course that includes a climb of the Slingerberg, with an average gradient of 6%.

"As was the case in Aalter, where we can continue the BinckBank Tour tomorrow/Thursday with a revised stage, we are once again very grateful to the municipality of Riemst in this case for helping to facilitate this solution," said Gert Van Goolen, spokesperson for the BinckBank Tour.

"It is promising to be a wonderful time trial in Limburg. Thanks to the help of both Aalter and Riemst, we have managed to allow the BinckBank Tour to continue and all of that in a little over half a day. From tomorrow afternoon, the riders can go for it for another three days and are presented with just as many different stages."
