Liege-Bastogne-Liege - Primoz Roglic: You should never stop believing
Team Jumbo-Visma

Jumbo-Visma's Primoz Roglic has taken the victory of Liege-Bastogne-Liege by sprinting to the finish line against Julian Alaphilippe.

Roglic managed to stay in the peloton throughout the entire race and during the last climb of the day his teammate Tom Dumoulin made the race difficult with a very strong acceleration that made a selection in the field. Roglic stayed then with Alaphilippe, Tadej Pogacar and Marc Hirschi all the way to the finish line and after the world champion launched his sprint, he didn't give up and overtook him just at the finish line.

Although Alaphilippe got relegated for irregular sprint for interrupting Hirschi's and Pogacar's attempts, the photo-finish showed the Slovenian crossed the finish line centimetres ahead of the Frenchman.

"This is unbelievable. It was so close", Roglic said. "You should never stop believing and always keep going in the last centimetres. It's a great feeling. I am very happy to be able to win again, and I am very proud of the team.

"Tom was very strong on the final climb and the other riders also did a great job. It was the first time that I started here. It was on my wish list to win a monument and I succeeded."
