Jumbo-Visma's Primoz Roglic has announced his return to the Vuelta a España one year after he took the final victory of the race.

The Slovenian is set to wear the bib number "1" of the race at the start line of the 2020 edition of the Spanish grand tour, which will take off on the 20th of October in Irun. His Dutch team will have a very strong roster as he will share the lead with Tom Dumoulin, and they will have the support of Robert Gesink, George Bennett and Sepp Kuss.

The Vuelta a España also announced other luxury participants like Richard Carapaz (Ineos-Grenadiers), Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ), Michael Woods (EF Education First), Alejandro Valverde, Enric Mas (Movistar) and David de la Cruz (UAE Team Emirates), among others.

On the sprinting section, the Spanish race also announced some big names that will be competing for the fast stages. Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) -who got the Green Jersey at the Tour de France after winning two stages including the Champs-Élysées one- will be competing against Pascal Ackermann (Bora-hansgrohe) -winner of the Points Classification of the 2019 Giro d'Italia, Jasper Philipsen (UAE Team Emirates), Matteo Moschetti (Trek-Segafredo) and Magnus Cort Nielsen (EF Pro Cycling).
