Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) has taken the win of the tenth stage of the Vuelta a España and has re-taken the lead of the General Classification.

Although the profile of the tenth day of competition pointed out at a final sprint for the fast men, it developed in a different way. The escape of the day was formed on the first part of the 185-kilometre route which included a climb of the third category in the middle, by riders like Alexander Molenaar, Pim Ligthart and Michal Paluta and it took an advantage of more than 12 minutes at times.

With 35 kilometres to go the gap was reduced to one minute and the climb of the day left Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) struggling at the back of the back. The last of the escapees was reeled back in with less than 20 kilometres to go and there many attacks happened but non successfully.

Cofidis' Guillaume Martin launched an attack at the final kilometre and Richard Carapaz went on to catch him but some metres later Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) made his move and managed to cross the finish line in the first position, three seconds ahead of the Ecuadorian, which gave him the lead of the General Classification.
