Lotto Soudal's Tim Wellens has taken his second stage victory in the 2020 Vuelta a España after being part of the day's breakaway. Primoz Roglic has kept the lead of the General Classification.
The 14th stage of the Spanish grand tour was 204.7 kilometres long between Lugo and Ourense over a rolling route that featured three climbs of the third category. The breakaway of the day was formed after 50 kilometres of racing and included strong riders like Zdenek Stybar, Dylan van Baarle, Michael Woods, Tim Wellens and Marc Soler, later on they were joined by Thymen Arensman and Pierre Luc Perichon.
The attackers managed to keep a good gap with the pack until the end and although there were several attempts of attacks in the last kilometres, but they got together for the uphill finish in which Wellens showed once again to have a good sprint on this kind of conditions.
The General Classification riders arrived together to the finish line, which means Primoz Roglic maintains the Red Jersey.
