The UAE Tour has announced some of the riders that will take part in the 2021 edition of the race.

The Emirati race is still one of the few standing so far at the start of the calendar as many have already been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The competition has announced part of a luxury start list that will be at its start line on the 21st of February.

Top riders like the winner of the 2020 edition of the Tour de France Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), Adam Yates (Team BikeExchange) -winner of the last edition of the race, Chris Froome (Israel Start-Up Nation) and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) have confirmed their participation.

The roads of the United Arab Emirates will also count with the presence of the time trial World Champion Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers), the new signing of UAE Team Emirates Marc Hirschi, and the fast stages will be fought by top sprinters like Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal), Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick-Step), Pascal Ackermann (Bora-hansgrohe) and Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates).

The Emirati race will be held between the 21st and the 27th of February. The 2020 edition of the competition had to be cut short one stage due to the Covid-19 pandemic that affected the peloton and ended up with hotel quarantines for several teams and the infections of riders like Gaviria and Max Richeze.
