Annemiek van Vleuten is set to make her debut in the season and with her new team Movistar at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.

The European champion is set to make her debut with the Spanish formation at the opening weekend in Belgium. The Dutchwoman is set to defend the title of the race she got in 2020, after which she also won the Emakumeen Nafarroako Klasikoa, the Clasica Femenina Navarra, Durango-Durango and Strade Bianche.

Van Vleuten will be backed by a strong roster that will help her go through the 126-kilometre course that features seven cobbled sections and up to ten climbs, the last seven less than 30 kilometres apart which will surely break the peloton and make a selection ahead of the finale.

The route of the race will also include the iconic Kapelmuur -which will be at 17 kilometres from the finish- and the Bosberg -with 13 kilometres left- and that will surely make the difference for the fight to the victory.

Movistar's line up for the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad (February 27):

Aude Biannic
Jalena Eric
Barbara Guarischi
Annemiek van Vleuten
Emma Norsgaard
