Deceuninck-Quick-Step's Sam Bennett has taken the victory at the fourth stage of the UAE Tour, Tadej Pogacar remains on top of the General Classification.
The fourth day of competition at the Emirati race was 204 kilometres long over a mostly flat route that was suitable for a fast finish. Lotto Soudal's Thomas De Gendt tried to be on the escape group again but he was unsuccessful, unlike Francois Biddard (AG2R Citroën) and Oliver Le Gac (Groupama-FDJ) but they were caught with less than 30 kilometres to go.
Unlike the first stage of the race, this time the peloton was not cut by echelons, so all the fast men managed to arrive to the final kilometre to fight for the victory.
The Irishman took his 50th victory as a professional rider by crossing the finish line ahead of David Dekker (Jumbo-Visma) and Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal), while Pogacar crossed the line with the pack and managed to keep the lead of the overall standings.
