Lotto Soudal's Caleb Ewan has taken the victory of the last stage at the UAE Tour, while Tadej Pogacar has confirmed the overall victory.

The last leg of the Emirati race was 147 kilometres long over a route that connected the Yas Mall and the Abu Dhabi Breakwater. The course was flat which was expected to finish in a bunch sprint and the peloton didn't dissapoint, while the Sloveninan winner of the 2020 Tour de France only had to make sure to cross the finish line with the pack to consolidate his final victory.

After Mathieu van der Poel -who retired on the second stage after his entire team withdrew from the race due to a Covid-19 positive of one of the members of the staff- and two wins by Deceuninck-Quick-Step's Sam Bennett, the last stage was conquered by Ewan -who had already finished in the top three at the fourth day of competition.

The Australian beat Bennett, Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Victorious), Michael Morkov (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) and Cees Bol (Team DSM) at the final sprint. One after finishing in the second GC position of the race when Adam Yates (Ineos-Grenadiers) won it, this year the roles were exchanged and Pogacar stepped on the highest position of the final podium while the Briton was second and Joao Almeida completed it.
