Chantal van den Broek-Blaak (SD Worx) has taken the victory of Strade Bianche, crossing the finish line seven seconds ahead Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo).

The Italian race was 136 kilometres long and took the peloton through the same route of the last three editions that featured 31 kilometres of gravel roads divided in eight sectors. The race came down to a fight in a very strong group that included names like the world champion Anna van der Breggen, Blaak (SD Worx), Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma), Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar), Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (FDJ Nouevelle Aquitaine Futuroscope), and Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM), among others.

Vos and Van Vleuten were the first riders to make a move on the last gravel stretch, but they were soon caught by the rest. With six kilometres to go, Longo Borghini launched an attack and Van den Broek-Blaak followed her. The Dutchwoman was clearly stronger at the climb of the Via Santa Caterina and crossed the finish line by herself.

Longo Borghini and her teammate Van der Breggen completed the final podium of the race. This is the fourth year in a row that the Italian competition has been won by a Dutch rider.
