Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) is set to return to France for the first time after his success at the 2020 Tour de France, to fight for stage victories at Paris-Nice.

After winning two stages in the first World Tour race of the season, the UAE Tour, Bennett is ready to take the chances the French competition offers. The Irishman will be in charge of the fast stages, while French ITT champion Remy Cavagna and Yves Lampaert will try to achieve success in the fight against the clock and Mattia Cattaneo will be the GC card after showing a solid performance at the UAE Tour.

"Paris-Nice is a race with a lot of history, and at the same time, a very hard race," said Bennett. "Normally it has a lot of crosswinds, so it's good to come here having that week of racing in the Middle East in the legs, where I got used to this kind of aggressive racing.

"There should be some nice opportunities for the sprinters, the team is very strong and hopefully I'll have good legs again so we can continue our season on the same note."

Deceuninck-Quick-Step's roster for Paris-Nice (March 7-14):

Sam Bennett
Mattia Cattaneo
Rémi Cavagna
Tim Declercq
Yves Lampaert
Michael Mørkøv
Florian Sénéchal
