Jack Haig and Dylan Teuns (Bahrain Victorious) are set to fight for good General Classification positions in Paris-Nice.

The race will kick off the World Tour stage racing in Europe and will be as challenging as always as the competition moves from the harsh conditions of the surroudings of Paris to the Mediterranean in Nice, that's why is nicknamed " the Race to the Sun".

Bahrain Victorious will start in the French race with one option for the fast stages and Haigh and Teuns for the overall aspirations. "Paris-Nice is action-packed every day," said Sports Director Rolf Aldag. "You can lose Paris Nice at any moment. There are no easy stages. You have the chance of crosswinds, technical sections, TT and uphills. You need specialists and a strong team.

"We have Phil (Bauhaus) for sprint finishes, and like Provence, we have Jack and Dylan, who can go with the best for uphill finishes. I’m personally optimistic and working together as a team and can do well. Jack and Dylan are in great shape and can go for the GC. We will take it day by day and see if we get some stage wins too."

Wout Poels was set to start in this race, but he has a slight injury on his left knee after a crash he suffered on the UAE Tour. Team doctors and management have agreed that it's best to allow him to heal completely before returning to competition.
