The Volta a Catalunya is set to be without public in the start and finish lines following the Covid-19 protocols of the region.

The 100th edition of the Spanish race will take place between the 22nd and the 28th of March and will have special conditions to follow all the protocols to avoid the spread of Covid-19 in the region. Like other races, the competition will have a bubble to isolate the riders, staff and members of the organisation from the exterior, and this will mean that the public won't be allowed at the start or finish of the stages.

The organisation of the Volta a Catalunya has started like this a campaign to ask the public to follow this special edition of the race from home and has announced two hours of coverage in each of the seven stages that will be available for all the broadcasters that have the emission rights.

The 100th edition of the race was supposed to take place in 2020, but the pandemic forced its cancellation. For this special edition, the organisation has already announced the participation of important riders like Chris Froome, Richard Carapaz, Alejandro Valverde, Marc Hirschi, Thomas De Gendt, David de la Cruz, and Marc Soler among others.
