Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Victorious) has taken the victory of the second stage in the Tour de Romandie while Rohan Dennis kept the lead of the General Classification.
The second day of competition of the Swiss race was 165.7 kilometres long with a start in La Neuveville and a finish in Saint-Imier. The escape of the day created a gap with the peloton of more than three minutes but it was all over with around 20 kilometres to go.
Bahrain-Victorious protected successfully its GC riders Jack Haig and Damiano Caruso, and fought for the stage victory of Colbrelli. The rider attacked on the last climb and managed to cross the finish line just ahead Patrick Bevin, Marc Hirschi, Clement Champoussin and Diego Ulissi.
"I’m very happy, yesterday I was second and very close," said the winner of the second stage of the race. "Today it was a super team and a super lead out with Jack and Damiano and a super sprint. I’m very happy!"
