Mark Padun conquers mountain finish at Dauphine, Richie Porte wears Yellow

Bahrain Victorious' Mark Padun has taken the win of the seventh stage at the Criterium du Dauphine and Richie Porte has taken the lead of the General Classification.
The route of the seventh day of competition was 171.1 kilometres long and took the riders from Saint-Martin-Le-Vinoux and La Plagne, featuring two haute category climbs, including the mountain finish. The escape of the day included riders like Warren Barguil, Lawson Craddock, Kanny Elissonde and Nils Politt, but the were caught before the last climb.
Many riders tried to take advantage on the last climb of the day, including Pierre Roland and Kenny Elissonde. But Richie Porte is the first to attack with 8.5 kilometres to go and he is followed by Enric Mas, Sepp Kuss and Mark Padun. The Ukranian made a move and went away from the companions, while the group of Porte got more riders like Miguel Angel Lopez, Ion Izagirre and Ben O'Connor.
While Padun claimed the victory of the day, Porte attacked with two kilometres to go and crossed the finish line 34 seconds behind the winner him, climbing like this to the top of the General Classification. Alexey Lutsenko arrived to the finish one minute behind Padun and dropped to the second overall position.
