The selection that will represent Belgium in the road cycling events of Tokyo 2020 has been announced.

The Belgian Olympic Committee and the Cycling Federation have selected the riders that will take part in the road races and the time trials for men and women in the upcoming Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020. The men's team for the road race includes three riders that are currently at the Tour de France, while in the women's one is riding the Giro d'Italia femminile.

The strong team for the men's road race (Saturday, July 24) is formed by Tiesj Benoot, Remco Evenepeoel, Wout van Aert, Greg Van Avermaet and Mauri Vansevenant. The time trial (Wednesday, July 28) will be done by Evenepoel and Van Aert -the latter is the current Belgian time trial champion.

For the women's road race (Sunday, July 25) the chosen riders are: Valerie Demey, Lotte Kopecky and Julie Van de Velde and the latter -who will go to Tokyo after finishing the Giro d'Italia- will also ride the time trial (Wednesday, July 28).
