Deceuninck-Quick-Step is ready to face three Belgian races in one weekend: Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen, Primus Classic and Gooikse Pijl.

The Belgian formation is ready to continue with the calendar in its homeland, with three one-day races, in which it has already taken six victories in total. Two of them will suit the sprinters, although some strong winds and the weather could play a role in the final outcome, and the Primus Classic will favour the puncheurs, with its 197.7-kilometre course that features 18 climbs, the last of them at only 20 km from the finish line.

After finishing the Vuelta a España with three victories and the Green Jersey of the points classification, Fabio Jakobsen will return to competition. The Dutchman is set to lead the formation at the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen, a race that Deceuninck-Quick-Step has won already four times.

Two days later, Jakobsen will have another shot for a victory at the Gooikse Pijl, a 199-kilometre race. For the Primus Classic, Julian Alaphilippe will be leading the team, wearing for the last time the Rainbow Jersey he got in Imola in 2020.

"For Koolskamp and Gooikse Pijl, we have a fair chance of fighting for a good result with Fabio, who had a great La Vuelta and will rely on an experienced lead-out train, but also on a very strong team capable of controlling the races," said the team Sports Director Geert Van Bondt.

"Saturday, Julian will show his beautiful rainbow jersey in the Primus Classic, a race that includes a local lap in Overijse, which will be a good test for the riders doing the World Championships. Overall, we head into the weekend with a lot of motivation and confidence that we will get some good results in the three races."
